MESSAGE FROM WAYNE

Hello my loves,
One of the most discouraging and unpleasant phases in the evolution of this Understanding is the point at which you find yourself feeling remote and disconnected from all that is happening around you. It as if the world has gone completely grey -- nothing is important, nothing hurts particularly badly but nothing feels particularly joyous either. You're not really depressed but you're not really happy -- everything has a sameness about it.
Such a condition often coincides with the initial recognition that you are not truly the author of your thoughts, feelings or actions. It is as if the ego, having been exposed for what it ISN'T shifts its involvement into a new gear. No longer able to claim to be the author it now poutingly claims that there is nothing worth authoring. Yes, it is another lie but it is a persuasive one. As with the previous lie, the lie of personal authorship, a possible solution is to fix it in the bright light of inquiry. Is it true? Is the appearance the reality?
Eventually the clouds disperse and the greyness goes with it. The landscape of life is once again illuminated in all its beauty and all its ugliness...all its joys and all its sorrows...what is seen is what has always been there...an infinite, fantastic diversity.

OFFICE MANAGER POSITION TO BECOME OPEN IN EARLY 2007

Beginning in the early part of 2007 the Advaita Fellowship will need a new office manager (after many years of dedicated service our beloved Donna will be moving to Hawaii!).
Duties are computer intensive...email, order processing and basic bookkeeping along with shipping and receiving and interfacing with customers and the hosts for Wayne's Talks.The position carries a very small salary but mostly it is an opportunity to be of service to the Teaching. The office is in Hermosa Beach, California.

Metaphysical Understanding is really beyond words. Indeed it is not really an understanding at all -- it can only be an awakening, an awakening to our true nature.
The Understanding can only happen when a stage of intensity is reached in which the very desire for enlightenment gets consumed along with the "me" desiring enlightenment.

ENCOUNTER
First, the little cuts, then the bigger ones, the biggest, the burns. This
is what God did when he wanted to love you.
She didn't expect to meet him on the stairway no one ever used but she did, because she was afraid of the elevator, the locked room.
She didn't expect him to look like that, to be so patient, first the little ones, then the big ones. Everything
in due time, he said, I've got all the time in the world. She didn't imagine it would take so long, the breaking.
He did it three times before he did it. Love?
She had imagined it differently, something coming home to her,
an end to the waiting. And she did stop, when the big cuts came. It was all there was, the burning, and that's what God was
everywhere at once. Somebody had already told her that, only not in his voice. He was inside her now ----
the bigger ones, then the burning --- and gone, then back again. This was eternity, when nothing happened that wasn't
already happening. She couldn't remember.
After the burning, even the light went quiet.
She didn't think God would be so
specific, so delicate --- inside her elbow, under her arm, the back of her neck and her knees.
It's true, she struggled at first, until after the breaking. Then God was with her, and she was with him.
